FIRST DATE AND FIRST SUNSET
A TRUST: On 21st October 2023, Alex flew to Hanoi to meet me almost immediately, keeping his promise to Papa Hung. This made me trust that Alex always does what he says.
A SOULMATE: We talked for 14 hours continuously and discovered that our life cycles could be almost the same! We watched the sunset together at Co La Coffee and Quan Gio Coffee, had a long talk until nightfall, and watched the stars start to shine.
A PROTECTOR: Alex asked Huong why I was wearing a Snake ring. I said that I didn’t know; I just felt that the Snake protected me. Alex said he would protect me.
VERY FIRST HANGOUT: We came back to Hanoi and went to Ta Hien Street to enjoy the night vibes of the city. This was our very first hangout together, having some cocktails at Attic Cocktail & Wine Pub, and then visiting 1900 Bar at Ta Hien Street.
Reunion in Seoul - Snake, Tiger and Bird
Nov 2023 in Seoul Art Museum: It was at the Seoul Art Museum where Alex helped me connect with my soul through Chun's artworks. He knelt to tighten my shoes, and you know, you should marry someone who is willing to kneel to tighten your shoes. On that day, I knew I had met my prince.
Snake, Tiger, and Bird: The Seoul Art Museum changes its layout every month. During our visit, the first-floor room displayed about 20 artworks, each depicting different scenes. However, each artwork featured three animals: a Snake, a Tiger, and a Bird. I teased Alex, saying the Tiger represented me (Huong) and the Snake represented Alex, without mentioning the Bird. The missing piece came at the end of our trip when we visited Namsan Tower, the symbol of love in Seoul. At the base of the tower, we found the Bird. Later, I learned that the Eagle, often called the Prince of Anyang (Alex's hometown), was the final missing piece.
“You are the light of the world”
The name of Alex in Korea - Jinhyuk - means SPREADING THE LIGHT. On the trip Huong had a reunion with Alex in Seoul, she was gifted a present by unknown taxi driver, the gift said " You are the light of the world".
If you know that, Papa Hung - the matcher is the person who brought Electricity to Vietnam, making Vietnam lighter (he bought 4 turbines from Russia for the first Power Factory of Vietnam on behalf of the Vietnamese Government), you might be surprised.
You also might not be surprised at all, if you know that in the gift, attached is a Bird!
Fate is only fate if you want it to be!
When Huong believes in fate, Alex does not. She trusts in signs, while Alex does not.
One night, as we were enjoying some cocktails in a cozy pub in the center of Seoul, Alex told me he needed to find a girl to marry who lives in Seoul. I said, "No problem, I can move to Seoul.“
Alex said that language was a barrier. I replied, "No problem, I can use Google Translate to talk to your parents.“
Alex said that long-distance love leads nowhere. I responded, "No problem, I can fly to meet you each month.”

OUR FIRST HUG
December 2023, Zock Out festival in Singapore: Alex joined my team for a trip to Singapore that included a music festival on the beach. We had fun, joy, and a special dining experience at Ocean Restaurant in Sentosa. Everything seemed perfect. The wine might have given my man a bit more bravery (lol). At midnight, under the DJ music and fireworks, we shared our very first hug and held hands for the first time.

January 2024, Countdown in Seoul: We definitely had a dreamy last day of 2023. We started with a Lunch at Kani Lab, experiencing the fusion of gastronomy and media art. And then we had a private dinner at Terrace Room Seoul, a lovely restaurant in Cheongdam-dong. After that, we gathered with friends at a cozy pub before ending with a count down and watching fireworks at the Sky Lounge of Intercontinental Coex.
Love story started
February 2024 in Phuket: During Lunar New Year, we spent our first Eve night together on Alex's birthday at Phuket Island. I surprised him with a special birthday celebration arranged by the resort staff. This Eve night was extra special because it was the last 30th of December (Lunar Calendar) for the next 10 years, with the next one not until 2033.
What comes around will come around!
Our love truly began on the 1st day of the Lunar New Year at KEEMALA REOSRT, in a villa called Birdnest.

At the first family gathering, Alex's sister asked when we planned to get married and when I would move to Korea.
I said it should be in the spring of next year.
Alex's sister replied, "if you want to do it next spring, you need to book the wedding venue now."
I turned to Alex and asked, "So, are you planning to marry me?" Alex nodded, and that’s how we decided to get married.
Alex first met Huong’s family
June 2024 in Hai Phong: Alex came to Hai Phong to meet Huong’s family. We also travelled to Sapa – a mountainous city of Vietnam for wedding site check at Ville De Mont Mountain Resort, and enjoyed vibes of romantic resort village.

Some key fun facts
Complete Circle
Huong’s tattoo features a well-known Japanese symbol: an incomplete circle, which can be dark or light. This symbol conveys the message that "imperfection is perfect"—acknowledging that life’s inherent imperfections are what make it perfect. The phrase “BE HERE NOW” echoes a Zen master’s wisdom: “The past no longer exists, and the future is not yet here.” It reminds us to focus on the present moment and confront what is here and now.
One day in October in 2023, Alex whose first name was Wanseok – meaning in Korean Buddhism: Complete circle – finally came.
Chun Kyung Ja
Seoul Art Museum stores about 100 artworks of Chun. The most popular one, titled Chapter 22 – My Sad Legend, features a girl with four snakes on her head and a rose in front of her. Rose symbolizes Huong’s name, while Snake represents Alex’s age. In the Explanation Board, it mentioned that the snakes act as the Guardian of the girl.
Huong wears a Snake ring because she feels that the Snake protects her. One day in October in 2023, Alex promised to protect Huong without knowing about Chun’s artwork explanation.
We used to locate in the same location - Sky garden!
Huong relocated from Hanoi to HCMC in 2015 and stayed in Le Thanh Ton Street, nearby Sky Garden Tower.
Alex moved from Seoul to Hanoi in 2014, and then moved to HCMC in 2015, also working in Le Thanh Ton Street, nearby Sky Garden Tower.
And now, 2025 We planned to choose Lourve9 - Studio called Sky Garden for pre-wedding photoshoot. 9 means FOREVER
